Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas. 

JDRF is the leading global organization focused on T1D research. Driven by passionate, grassroots volunteers connected to children, adolescents, and adults with this disease, JDRF is the largest charitable supporter of T1D research. The goal of JDRF is to improve the lives of every person affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. More than 80 percent of JDRF's expenditures directly support research and research-related education.


Fund A Cure is a unique opportunity to make a 100% tax-deductible donation to JDRF that will fund vital research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes. Since 1994, JDRF has raised over $186 million through Fund A Cure alone.



 
Rose Robeson's Story

Please join my husband Tom and me in our fundraising efforts for JDRF. I serve on the Board of Directors for JDRF and am chairing the JDRF Dream Gala this year to be held on April 28th. This cause is very important to my family, as our daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in her freshman year of high school. Although she is doing great, this has been a life changing experience for her and our family. Seeing her struggles has given me a lot of passion for both research to treat this disease as well as finding a cure for this disease. She is now a freshman at the University of Colorado.
